HOTELIERS SINCE 1897 AND FOREVER AFTER

Founder Berthold Kempinski created a culinary revolution by introducing the concept of serving wine by the glass and fix-priced full and half portion dishes.

In 1928, Haus Vaterland expanded Berlin's concept of entertainment dining and became M. Kempinski & Co's flagship venue. With each of its 12 restaurants themed to the cuisine and décor of a different country, it soon became Berlin's favourite night-time entertaining spot.

A HARMONIOUS BLEND OF TIMELESS HERITAGE WITH MODERN LUXURY

Kempinski Hotels made its first foray in Singapore in 2018. Located in the civic and cultural district, The Capitol Kempinski Hotel follows years of restoration to bring out the best of the neoclassical-style Capitol Building (1933) and Venetian Renaissance-style Stamford House (1904).

Capitol Building fronted the iconic Capitol Theatre with painted billboards to announce the movie of the week, and housed the nostalgic Magnolia Snack Bar, a favourite hunt for students, young courting couples and movie buffs for its delicious milkshakes, ice creams and cakes. Drawing parallel to Haus Vaterland, the heritage buildings were also a celebration of dining and entertainment.

The Capitol Building now hosts a collection of restaurants, each representing Kempinski Hotel's culinary heritage and a homage to Capitol Theatre's glorious history.
