Made with molasses, Spanish style rums tend to share the same characteristics as English style rums, but is lighter and smoother in flavour profile as it uses modern, multicolumn distillation and has a shorter fermentation. Rums from Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico and Trinidad are classified as ‘Spanish’ in style.
